TRIBUTE OF LOVE

Standing tall with a stern look on the face
He stares at the class thinking them to be
Another form of human race.

Pouring out his knowledge
In our useless minds
He stares at the benches with students sitting behind

The words of our teacher are highly inspiring
But once the class gets over,
There is no change in the internal wiring.

Reading is his passion and travelling, his love
But late comers as we are
Just get on his nerves

He can be compared to a coconut
As he is a person so great
He is the lost key
That opens thousand gates

This day is special for all of us
As sir celebrates the day of his birth

Sir loves us and we love sir
And together we hope to create
Melodies unheard.

As sir finishes 50 years of existence
We pray to god to show him
50 more years of life’s true essence

You will always be remembered in our hearts
Hope we too make place for ourselves
So that we are cherished till our lives depart.

(Had written this poem for my college professor in 2011 who still remains a strong influence in my life.)
